MNK-G.S.A supports the sourcing of commercially pure titanium and selected titanium alloys through European and international supply routes. We review the required grade, governing specification, product form, dimensions, condition, tests and inspection documents before quotation.

The Complete Specification Controls the Material

A grade name alone is not sufficient. Commercially pure Grades 1–4, Grade 5, Grade 23 ELI and Ti-6Al-7Nb have different chemistry, mechanical-property and application controls. Product form, heat-treatment condition, surface finish, dimensional tolerance and the governing industrial, aerospace or implant specification must be stated and verified.

Material Groups

CP Titanium Grades 1–4

Grade 1 / UNS R50250 / 3.7025, Grade 2 / UNS R50400 / 3.7035, Grade 3 / UNS R50550 / 3.7055 and Grade 4 / UNS R50700 / 3.7065. The four commercially pure grades combine corrosion resistance and weldability with increasing strength from Grade 1 to Grade 4.

Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V

UNS R56400 / 3.7164. A widely used alpha-beta titanium alloy selected where a higher strength-to-weight ratio, fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance are required. Industrial and aerospace requirements must be matched to the correct product specification and approved supply route.

Grade 23 / Ti-6Al-4V ELI

UNS R56401. The ELI version has more tightly controlled interstitial elements than standard Grade 5. Some European stock catalogues use material number 3.7165; that reference is accepted only after the certificate and governing specification have been checked. Grade 5 and Grade 23 are not treated as automatically interchangeable.

Ti-6Al-7Nb & Selected Grades

Ti-6Al-7Nb / UNS R56700 may be sourced against ISO 5832-11 or ASTM F1295 when specified. Additional requirements may cover Grades 7, 9, 12 and other corrosion-resistant or high-performance titanium grades, subject to exact grade, form and standard verification.

Common market names and European material numbers support inquiry matching. The ordered material is controlled by the agreed grade, product specification, condition and inspection documentation.

Consolidated Sourcing Range

The figures below combine complementary stockholder, mill and cut-to-size routes. They describe a practical sourcing envelope and do not imply that every grade and intermediate size is continuously held in stock.

Round Bar — Diameter & Length

  • Grade 1: approximately Ø0.4–300 mm, with many stock routes around 3 m.
  • Grade 2: approximately Ø0.3–300 mm; common industrial lengths are about 2.5–3.5 m.
  • Grade 4: approximately Ø1–100 mm, commonly 2–3.5 m.
  • Grade 5: precision and standard bar approximately Ø1–110 mm; complementary industrial routes extend to about Ø260 mm. Typical commercial lengths are about 2.8–3.5 m.
  • Grade 23 ELI: approximately Ø0.2–110 mm, commonly supplied in 2 or 3 m lengths.
  • Ti-6Al-7Nb: published precision-bar routes approximately Ø1.5–50 mm in 2 or 3 m lengths.

Selected small and medium diameters are available ground or polished to h6/h7-type tolerances. Exact tolerance, straightness, surface roughness and usable length are confirmed with the material specification.

Sheet & Plate — Thickness & Format

  • Grade 1: approximately 0.4–60 mm; published routes cover widths 1000–2000 mm and lengths 1000–6000 mm.
  • Grade 2: approximately 0.4–80 mm; common formats include 1000 × 2000 and 1250 × 2500 mm.
  • Grade 4: stock-oriented range approximately 0.5–10 mm, generally 1000–1250 mm wide and 2000–2500 mm long.
  • Grade 5: approximately 0.5–120 mm; common mill formats include 914 × 2438, 1215 × 3048, 1000 × 2000 and 1250 × 2500 mm.
  • Grade 23 ELI: approximately 0.8–120 mm, with published widths of 1000–1500 mm and lengths of 2000–3000 mm.

Full-sheet, full-plate and cut-piece supply are available depending on grade and thickness. Waterjet, sawn or other approved cutting routes may be coordinated when technically appropriate.

Tube & Pipe — OD, Wall & Length

  • Precision titanium tubing: established routes cover approximately 9.53–38.1 mm OD with 0.7–5 mm wall, in straight lengths up to about 16.5 m, subject to grade and OD/wall ratio.
  • Grade 2 seamless tube: a principal production range covers approximately 9.5–24.4 mm OD, 0.7–4 mm wall and lengths up to 17 m; wider diameter routes are checked for each project.
  • Selected Grade 1 and titanium-alloy tubes: published routes include approximately 3–50.8 mm OD and 0.3–5 mm wall.
  • Process pipe: larger seamless or welded Grade 2 and corrosion-resistant titanium pipe is sourced against OD or NPS/DN, schedule or wall thickness, end preparation and required fixed or random length.

Wire, Flats, Forgings & Components

  • Wire: selected Grade 1 routes approximately Ø0.32–10 mm; other grades and welding wire are confirmed by specification.
  • Flat bar: selected routes start at about 3 mm thickness and 10 mm width, with lengths up to 6 m.
  • Additional forms: discs, rings, hollow bar, billet, fasteners, flanges, fittings, forgings, cut blanks and machined parts against drawing.
  • Processing: sawing, waterjet cutting, grinding, polishing, trepanning, machining and controlled fabrication may be coordinated through qualified routes.

Range confirmation: these figures combine complementary supply routes and should not be read as a live stock list or a guarantee that every grade is available in every intermediate dimension. Current availability, mill minimums, tolerances, finish, condition, cutting allowance, traceability and lead time are confirmed for each inquiry.

Application Context

Chemical & Process Equipment

Heat exchangers, vessels, tubing, piping, valves and fabricated components for corrosive process environments.

Marine & Desalination

Grade- and design-specific titanium may be considered for seawater systems, desalination, offshore equipment and marine hardware.

Aerospace & High Performance

Grade 5 and selected alloys are used where strength-to-weight ratio and fatigue performance are important, subject to the approved aerospace specification and supplier route.

Medical & Precision

Precision bars and implant-material routes are available only against the exact medical standard, approved condition, traceability, cleanliness and inspection-document requirements.

Standards & Verification

Material, product-form, application and inspection-document standards serve different purposes. The correct combination and current edition are established for the requested product before order placement.

European & International Routes

  • EN 3311:2023 — Ti-6Al-4V annealed bars for machining, D ≤ 300 mm, for aerospace applications.
  • EN 3456:2012 — Ti-6Al-4V annealed hot-rolled sheet and strip up to 6 mm for aerospace applications.
  • EN 3464:2012 — Ti-6Al-4V annealed plate above 6 mm and up to 100 mm for aerospace applications.
  • EN 3312:2012 — Ti-6Al-4V annealed forgings up to 150 mm for aerospace applications.
  • EN 10204:2004 — inspection documents for metallic products.

Implant-Material Standards

  • ISO 5832-2:2025 / ASTM F67-24 — unalloyed titanium for surgical-implant manufacture.
  • EN ISO 5832-3:2021 — wrought Ti-6Al-4V for surgical-implant manufacture.
  • ASTM F136-26 — wrought Ti-6Al-4V ELI, UNS R56401, for surgical-implant applications.
  • ISO 5832-11:2024 / ASTM F1295-24 — wrought Ti-6Al-7Nb for surgical-implant applications.

Medical Supply Requires More Than a Grade Name

A certificate showing “Grade 5” does not establish compliance with Grade 23 ELI or an implant standard. Medical inquiries require the exact standard and edition, approved melt and manufacturing route, condition, chemistry and mechanical properties, microstructure where applicable, surface and cleanliness requirements, full heat traceability and the agreed inspection package.
