TUNGSTEN MATERIALS & ENGINEERED COMPONENTS
Tungsten Materials
Global sourcing for pure tungsten, tungsten alloys, composites, electrodes and parts to drawing.
MNK-G.S.A supports technically demanding tungsten inquiries through a network of specialized manufacturing sources. Material designation, product form, dimensions, certification and destination requirements are assessed together.
One Family, Multiple Specifications
Pure tungsten, doped tungsten, tungsten-rhenium, tungsten-copper and high-density tungsten-base alloys are different material families. A shared tungsten content does not establish identical properties, standards or interchangeability.
Tungsten Sourcing Scope
Pure Tungsten
Fine wire, rod and bar, foil, sheet, plate and custom parts. Standard applicability depends on product form and end use.
K-Doped Tungsten
Potassium-doped and nonsag tungsten variants are sourced by the exact manufacturer grade, dopant definition and required form.
Tungsten–Rhenium
WRe compositions and wire products for high-temperature, electronic and research applications, with exact rhenium content verified.
Tungsten Copper / WCu
Electrical-contact, thermal-management and custom WCu components specified by explicit W/Cu composition and performance requirements.
WNiFe & WNiCu
High-density tungsten-base alloys supplied by class, binder system, density, mechanical properties and drawing requirements.
TIG Tungsten Electrodes
Pure and oxide-dispersed nonconsumable electrodes sourced by AWS or ISO classification, diameter, length, identification and packaging.
Standards and Scope Control
ASTM B760-07(2023)
Applies to wrought unalloyed tungsten plate, sheet and foil. It is not a universal tungsten rod or custom-part specification.
ASTM B777-15(2026)
Defines four classes of machinable high-density tungsten-base metal. Class, binder, density and properties require certificate confirmation.
ASTM B702-93(2024)
Covers copper-tungsten electrical contact components made by powder metallurgy. Other WCu applications may use different specifications.
ASTM F73 / F288
These standards address defined tungsten-rhenium and tungsten wire applications. Their scope is not extended to unrelated product forms.
AWS A5.12M/A5.12:2024
Classifies pure and oxide-dispersed tungsten electrodes and specifies sizes, finish, identification, color coding and chemistry requirements.
ISO 6848:2015
Current international classification standard for nonconsumable tungsten electrodes, confirmed by ISO in 2026.
Common Inquiry Routes
Mill Products
Wire, rod, bar, foil, sheet and plate are sourced against a defined grade, product form, condition, dimensions and inspection requirements.
Composites & Alloys
WCu, WNiFe, WNiCu and WRe inquiries require explicit composition or class, properties and intended product form.
Custom Components
Drawings are reviewed for raw material selection, machining route, tolerances, surface finish, inspection and manufacturing feasibility.
Dimensional Capability
Dimensional ranges on MNK-G.S.A product pages are presented as typical global sourcing or manufacturing capabilities. Minimum diameter, maximum diameter and maximum length may come from different manufacturing routes and cannot be combined automatically into one guaranteed size. Actual availability is confirmed for the complete grade–form–dimension combination.
Relevant ASTM Tungsten References
Use the relevant ASTM reference together with the customer specification, drawing, required product form and inspection route. The standard number alone does not establish grade equivalence, stock availability, conformity or fitness for service.
Specialized ASTM Wire References
Use the relevant ASTM wire reference together with the customer specification, drawing, required product form and inspection route. The standard number alone does not establish grade equivalence, stock availability, conformity or fitness for service.
