Titanium Grade 2 Heat-Exchanger and Condenser Tubes
Technical sourcing of commercially pure titanium tubing by grade, manufacturing route, outside diameter, wall, length or U-bend geometry, testing and inspection documents.
MNK-G.S.A develops each inquiry from the customer’s equipment and service specification. Grade 2, UNS R50400 and the commonly referenced material number 3.7035 help identify the material family, but the ordered tube is controlled by its product standard, manufacturing route, condition, dimensions, tests and acceptance documents.
Grade 2 Identity and Product Scope
- Titanium Grade 2 / UNS R50400 identifies a commercially pure titanium grade used in corrosion-resistant industrial equipment.
- 3.7035 is a commonly published European material-number reference for Grade 2. It is retained as an inquiry-matching designation, not as proof that a tube conforms to a current European product standard.
- ASTM B338-17(2026) includes Grade 2 within its tube specification for condensers, evaporators and heat exchangers.
- Grade 2H uses the same UNS identity but adds a higher guaranteed minimum tensile strength within ASTM B338. The standard permits Grade 2H to be certified as Grade 2; ordinary Grade 2 must not be assumed to satisfy Grade 2H.
- Tube, pipe, sheet, plate, bar and welding filler are different product scopes. A certificate for one form does not establish compliance for another.
MNK does not treat a commercial “Ti Grade 2 tube” description as a complete purchase specification. The route, standard, condition, dimensions and agreed inspection plan must appear together in the order.

A design code, pressure-equipment requirement, tube-sheet specification or project document may add further controls. MNK verifies these alongside the product standard instead of treating a material designation as equipment approval.

Combination rule: the smallest outside diameter, thickest wall and longest tube are not assumed to be available together. MNK confirms OD, wall, length, tolerance, condition, quantity and inspection as one manufacturable combination.
Straight, U-Bent and Replacement-Bundle Controls
Straight Tube
State cut or mill length, length tolerance, end squareness, surface condition, straightness, packing method and whether the tube must pass through an existing bundle-handling route.
U-Bent Tube
Provide the complete bend schedule, bend radius, leg lengths, tangent points, row identification, heat-treatment requirement, dimensional acceptance method and additional testing after bending.
Retubing and Replacement
Use the approved drawing, tube sheet, previous material certificate and measured schedule. MNK does not infer replacement geometry or grade from the equipment name alone.

These are application contexts, not automatic approvals. The process medium, concentration, temperature, pressure, velocity, solids, cleaning chemistry, galvanic couples, tube-sheet material, crevice geometry and design code must be reviewed together.
Manufacturer guidance also identifies important limits, including strong reducing acids, fluoride-bearing solutions, pure oxygen and anhydrous chlorine. Final suitability belongs to the customer’s engineering and approval process.
