Scope in Procurement
ASTM B702-93(2024) covers copper–tungsten electrical contact components made by powder-metallurgy procedures.
The composition route and qualification testing are coordinated between manufacturer and user according to the function of the contact component.
The specification must not be extended automatically to every WCu heat sink, EDM electrode, block, rod or custom part. Non-contact applications may require a customer specification or another documented route.
