Scope in Procurement
ASTM F269-60(2025) covers determination of sag properties for tungsten wire within the method’s defined diameter threshold.
The test uses a prepared wire specimen, controlled forming, fixture geometry and heating conditions to produce a comparable sag result.
The method does not apply automatically to every fine wire, finished filament, TIG electrode or unsupported product geometry. Diameter, surface condition and customer acceptance basis must be checked first.
