Scope in Procurement
- ISO 24034:2020 specifies classification requirements for solid wire electrodes, solid wires and rods used for fusion welding of titanium and titanium alloys.
- Classification is based on chemical composition. The document states that the compositions for MIG products are the same as those for TIG, plasma, laser and other fusion-welding processes within its scope.
- The classification does not approve a filler for every titanium grade or service. Product cleanliness, shielding, manufacturer data, the approved WPS and project requirements remain controlling.
