EN 10269:2013 โ€” Steels and Nickel Alloys for Temperature-Service Fasteners

Procurement reference for semi-finished products, bars and rods used to manufacture steel and nickel-alloy fasteners with elevated- or low-temperature properties.

Edition control: EN 10269:2013 remains the current European edition identified through the current DIN EN 10269:2014-02 national publication record checked on 31 August 2026. Confirm the authorised publication and order requirements before use.

Scope in Procurement

EN 10269 specifies requirements for semi-finished products, bars and rods for fasteners made from non-alloy and alloy steels, including stainless steels, and nickel alloys where elevated- and/or low-temperature properties are specified.

RFQ and Bolting Controls

  • Exact EN 10269 material grade and product form
  • Semi-finished product, bar or rod dimensions and condition
  • Intended finished-fastener route and dimensional standard
  • Design temperature, pressure-equipment context and project specification
  • Heat treatment and mechanical-property requirements
  • Inspection-document type and supplementary tests
  • Heat and lot traceability through finished manufacture

A raw-material or semi-finished-product certificate alone does not establish compliance of the finished bolting component. Traceability must continue through manufacture, testing, marking and the released lot.

Scope Boundary

EN 10269 governs defined material/product routes; it is not by itself a finished-fastener geometry standard or automatic equivalence to an ASTM bolting grade. Cross-standard substitution requires documented engineering approval.
