ASTM B725-22 — Welded Nickel and Nickel-Copper Alloy Pipe
Procurement reference for welded nickel and nickel-copper alloy pipe under ASTM B725.
Edition control: ASTM B725-22 is the active edition identified in the official ASTM catalogue checked on 1 September 2026. Confirm the authorised publication and purchase-order requirements before use.
Scope in Procurement
ASTM B725 covers welded and annealed or welded and stress-relieved pipe in nickel UNS N02200, low-carbon nickel UNS N02201 and nickel-copper UNS N04400 for general corrosive service and mechanical applications.
RFQ and Product Controls
- Exact UNS N02200, N02201 or N04400 and ASTM B725-22 edition
- Corrosive-service or mechanical duty and governing equipment or piping specification
- Nominal pipe size, schedule or ordered wall, length, ends and tolerances
- Automatic welding, post-weld cold work and required final heat-treated condition
- Chemical and mechanical requirements for the selected alloy and condition
- Required pressure, leak, electric or guided-bend examination route
- ASTM B775/B775M requirements, inspection document, traceability, marking and destination
The material identity must remain traceable from the producing heat and lot through manufacture, welding, heat treatment, testing, inspection documentation, marking and final release.
Scope Boundary
ASTM B725 is a welded pipe route and does not cover seamless pipe or welded tube. Nickel grades and nickel-copper N04400 are not interchangeable; medium compatibility and system-code acceptance must be established for the actual duty.
