Scope in Procurement

ASTM B446 covers specified nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy families in hot- and cold-worked rod and bar. The exact UNS designation and heat-treated condition are part of the ordered product identity.

RFQ and Product Controls

• Exact UNS alloy and ASTM B446-26 edition
• Rod or bar form, hot-worked or cold-worked route and required condition
• For N06625, the ordered grade or heat-treatment condition
• Diameter or cross-section, length, straightness and dimensional tolerances
• Chemical and room-temperature mechanical requirements
• Inspection-document type, supplementary tests and purchaser witness points
• Heat and lot traceability, marking, packaging and destination requirements

The material identity must remain traceable from the producing heat and lot through the delivered form, any machining or further processing, inspection documentation and final release.

Scope Boundary

ASTM B446 is not a universal Alloy 625 specification and does not cover plate, sheet, strip, pipe, tube, wire or forgings. A shared UNS designation across product standards does not make their conditions interchangeable.
