- ASTM A479/A479M controls stainless bars and shapes for pressure-service use. The pressure code, exact grade and product condition must be stated with the order.
- The current ASTM record states that UNS N08904 bar formerly covered by ASTM B649 moved to the A479/A484 route.
- A479 is not a flat-product, tube, pipe or forging specification and does not replace the applicable component standard.
