MARINE COPPER ALLOY · COMPONENT AND REPAIR SOURCING

Nickel-Aluminium Bronze for Marine Components and Repair

Technical sourcing of nickel-aluminium bronze castings, bars, machined components and verified repair consumables by exact alloy, product standard and project requirements.

MNK-G.S.A coordinates NAB inquiries for propeller, pump, valve, bearing, wear and other marine-component applications through qualified manufacturing and documentation routes.

Technical Identity

  • Nickel-aluminium bronze is a material family. A cast component, wrought bar and welding consumable require different standards and cannot be treated as one automatically interchangeable grade.
  • ASTM B148-24 covers aluminium-bronze sand castings and includes UNS C95500 and C95800 among the listed alloys.
  • EN 1982:2024 is the current European framework for copper-alloy ingots and castings; the 2017 edition has been replaced.
  • A current voestalpine product catalogue maps one specific solid wire, UTP A 3444, to AWS ERCuNiAl and ISO 24373 S Cu 6328 (CuAl9Ni5Fe3Mn2). This is product-specific evidence, not universal equivalence with every NAB casting grade.
  • The governing drawing, exact alloy, casting or wrought route, condition, heat treatment, inspection plan and approved repair procedure control the quotation.

Application Context

Industry guidance identifies nickel-aluminium bronze in marine pumps, valves, propellers, shafts, bushings, bearings, fasteners and wear components. These are application contexts rather than automatic material approvals. Section thickness, casting quality, microstructure, heat treatment, corrosion environment, galvanic interaction, load and repair history must be reviewed for the actual component.

RFQ and Quality Controls

  • Exact UNS, EN or customer material designation and product standard
  • Casting, wrought or machining route; condition and required heat treatment
  • Drawing, dimensions, tolerances, surface condition and machining allowance
  • Mechanical, corrosion, NDT, class and inspection requirements
  • For repair: base-material verification, approved WPS/PQR, filler classification and post-repair acceptance
  • Quantity, unit weight, packing, traceability and delivery destination

Standards identify product requirements and classification frameworks; they do not establish universal equivalence between cast NAB grades and repair consumables. MNK verifies the offered manufacturer, condition, certificate, WPS and project acceptance before quotation.
