Scope in Procurement
ISO 3506-2 specifies mechanical and physical properties for corrosion-resistant stainless nuts with defined grades and property classes, metric threads and proof-load requirements within its scope.
RFQ and Finished-Fastener Controls
- Nut style, dimensions and dimensional standard
- Metric thread size, pitch, tolerance and fit
- Stainless grade and ISO 3506-2 property class
- Nut height, loadability and mating-fastener requirements
- Required proof-load, hardness or other tests
- Surface finish, marking and packaging
- Lot identity and inspection-document requirements
A raw-material certificate does not establish finished-fastener compliance. The report must trace the finished lot, tests and marking to the exact standard and order.
Scope Boundary
ISO 3506-2 does not by itself specify torque/clamp-force behaviour, prevailing torque or weldability. Nut compatibility must be checked against the exact bolt, screw or stud and joint requirements.
