ERNiCrMo-3 Nickel-Alloy Welding Consumables

Technical sourcing of ERNiCrMo-3 solid wire and rods against current AWS and ISO classification, welding-procedure and documentation requirements.

MNK-G.S.A coordinates specialist nickel-alloy welding consumables for corrosion-resistant fabrication, repair, overlay and dissimilar-joint inquiries after technical review.

Classification Identity

  • AWS A5.14/A5.14M:2026 is the current AWS specification for nickel and nickel-alloy bare welding electrodes and rods; it revises the now-historical 2024 edition.
  • A current manufacturer catalogue maps AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo-3 to ISO 18274 S Ni 6625 (NiCr22Mo9Nb) for a referenced solid-wire product.
  • ISO 18274:2023 is the current international classification framework for solid nickel-alloy wire electrodes, strip electrodes, wires and rods.
  • The filler classification alone does not approve a joint between Alloy 625, another nickel alloy, stainless steel or carbon steel.

Application Context

Manufacturer literature places ERNiCrMo-3 in corrosion-resistant NiCrMo filler applications associated with Alloy 625. It may also be considered for specific dissimilar joints or overlays only when the approved procedure and governing specification permit. Base-material identity, dilution, heat treatment and service environment must be reviewed.

RFQ and Quality Controls

  • Both base-material grades and product standards
  • Joint or overlay purpose, dilution limit and service environment
  • Approved WPS/PQR, process, diameter and package
  • Required mechanical, corrosion, class or OEM acceptance
  • Batch certificate, traceability, quantity and destination

Relevant ISO Reference

Use the current authorised ISO publication together with the governing specification, manufacturer documentation and project requirements. A reference link alone does not establish grade equivalence, product compliance or application approval.
