MNK-G.S.A reviews the drilling system, rock conditions, tool geometry, carbide grade, steel body, retention route and inspection plan as one sourcing package. A button shape or nominal diameter alone is not sufficient to establish interchangeability.

Top-Hammer

Buttons and inserts for threaded or tapered percussion bits, selected with the bit body, connection, face design, flushing arrangement and rock condition.

Down-the-Hole

Face and gauge buttons for DTH bit configurations, with the hammer system, hole size, air and cuttings evacuation, formation and service strategy defined.

Rotary & Construction

Carbide elements for selected rotary, excavation, trenching and construction-tool duties, supplied against an approved drawing or equipment reference.

Application labels describe the operating route; they do not define a universal carbide grade. The requested life, failure mode and regrinding or replacement strategy must be stated.

Specify the Duty Before the Grade

Operation and Formation

  • Top-hammer, DTH, rotary or other defined system
  • Rock type, abrasivity, fracturing and variability
  • Hole diameter, depth, orientation and flushing medium
  • Impact, rotation, feed and equipment reference
  • Observed wear, fracture, pull-out or body failure

Component and Material

  • Profile, diameter, height, radii and tolerances
  • Face or gauge position and required projection
  • Carbide family, binder, grain-size and property limits
  • Pocket geometry, interference or retention requirement
  • Steel body, heat treatment and finished-tool drawing

A harder grade is not automatically a better drilling grade. Wear resistance, toughness, button geometry, retention and the surrounding steel must be balanced for the actual duty. Proposed alternatives require technical approval against the governing equipment or customer specification.

Grade Verification and Approval

A manufacturer grade, ВК designation, WC-Co description and laboratory property set are different types of information. MNK-G.S.A records the relation being proposed and does not declare a direct equivalent unless the chemistry, binder, grain-size, properties, manufacturing route and application evidence support that conclusion.

Inspection and Traceability

  • Carbide batch identity and declared composition or grade document
  • Density, hardness, rupture strength, toughness or microstructure results where specified
  • Button or insert dimensions, profile, surface condition and visual inspection
  • Steel-body material, heat treatment and dimensional records for assemblies
  • Retention or joining controls and any customer-defined qualification test
  • Lot marking, packing and traceability through prototype and repeat supply
