ASTM B637-26 — Nickel Alloy Bars and Forgings for Temperature Service
Procurement reference for hot- and cold-worked nickel-alloy rod, bar, forgings and forging stock made from precipitation-hardenable alloys for moderate or high-temperature service.
Edition control: ASTM B637-26 is listed as active in the official ASTM catalogue. Catalogue record checked: . Confirm the authorised publication and order requirements before use.
Scope in Procurement
ASTM B637 covers specified precipitation-hardenable nickel alloys in hot- or cold-worked rod, bar, forging and forging-stock forms for moderate or high-temperature service. Specify the alloy, product form, delivery condition and heat treatment together.
RFQ and Product Controls
- Exact UNS alloy and ASTM B637-26 edition
- Rod, bar, forging or forging-stock form and dimensions
- Ordered condition and complete heat-treatment route
- Design temperature, load case and governing component or equipment specification
- Chemical-composition, tensile, hardness and stress-rupture requirements applicable under the product specification and order
- Inspection-document type, supplementary tests and purchaser witness points
- Heat and lot traceability through manufacture, marking, packaging and release
The material identity must remain traceable from the producing heat and lot through the delivered form, any machining or further processing, inspection documentation and final release.
Scope Boundary
ASTM B637 is a material/product-form route, not a finished-bolting or finished-component specification. A B637 certificate for N07718 feedstock does not establish ASTM A1014/A1014M compliance of a finished bolting component.
