ASTM A540/A540M covers alloy-steel bolting for nuclear and other special applications. The applicable grade and class are purchaser selections, and supplementary requirements are applied only when the order calls for them.
Standards Relationship
ASTM A540/A540M works with ASTM A962/A962M common bolting requirements. Project, equipment-code and quality-assurance requirements can add controls beyond the base product specification.
