Scope in Procurement
- EN 10088-3:2023 specifies technical delivery conditions for semi-finished products, hot- or cold-formed bars, rods, wire, sections and bright products in corrosion-resistant stainless steels.
- The ordered section, manufacturing condition, surface, dimensions and grade must be stated. Similar product names do not make pressure-service and general-purpose routes interchangeable.
- The standard does not replace flat-product, tube, pipe, pressure-forging or finished-component specifications.

For bright bars, specify the ordered condition rather than surface appearance alone. DIN EN 10278 covers straight stainless and other special-steel bars in drawn, peeled or ground condition. DIN EN 10278:2024-01.

- Dimensions, length, tolerances, straightness and surface
- Hot-formed, cold-formed, bright or other required condition
- EN 10204 document, tests, traceability, quantity and destination
