MARINE COPPER ALLOY · COMPONENT AND REPAIR SOURCING
Nickel-Aluminium Bronze for Marine Components and Repair
Technical sourcing of nickel-aluminium bronze castings, bars, machined components and verified repair consumables by exact alloy, product standard and project requirements.
MNK-G.S.A coordinates NAB inquiries for propeller, pump, valve, bearing, wear and other marine-component applications through qualified manufacturing and documentation routes.
Technical Identity
- Nickel-aluminium bronze (NAB) is a material family, not a single interchangeable grade. Castings, wrought products and welding consumables require their own product specifications.
- ASTM B148-24 covers aluminium-bronze sand castings, including UNS C95500 and C95800. Its scope should not be transferred automatically to other manufacturing routes.
- EN 1982:2024 covers copper and copper-alloy ingots and castings. The required alloy and delivery condition must be stated in the inquiry.
- For the specific solid wire UTP A 3444, voestalpine lists AWS ERCuNiAl and ISO 24373 S Cu 6328 (CuAl9Ni5Fe3Mn2). This does not establish interchangeability with every NAB casting.
- The drawing, exact alloy, manufacturing route, condition, inspection requirements and approved repair procedure govern selection and quotation.

Standards and Supply Scope
| Cast-alloy designation | Specify the required UNS or EN designation. C95500 and C95800 are distinct grades, not automatic substitutes. |
|---|---|
| Sand castings | ASTM B148-24; specify the alloy, condition and required inspection. |
| European ingots and castings | EN 1982:2024; do not apply a casting specification automatically to wrought bar. |
| Other product routes | For example, Wieland Concast identifies continuous-cast C95800 with ASTM B505/B505M-23. Confirm the applicable specification for each offered route. |
| Repair consumables | Reference editions: AWS A5.7/A5.7M:2026 and ISO 24373:2018. Confirm the offered filler classification, certification edition and approved WPS/PQR. |
| Documentation | Material certificate, heat or batch traceability, dimensions, required non-destructive testing and classification-society or third-party inspection. |
Application Context
Wieland Concast lists C95800 applications including propeller parts, valve bodies, bushings and marine hardware. These are examples, not project approvals. MNK requests the service environment, loading, drawing and inspection criteria before selection. A repair inquiry also needs verified base material and an approved procedure; no universal repair schedule is implied.
RFQ and Quality Controls
- Exact UNS, EN or customer material designation and product standard
- Casting, wrought or machining route; condition and required heat treatment
- Drawing, dimensions, tolerances, surface condition and machining allowance
- Mechanical, corrosion, NDT, class and inspection requirements
- For repair: base-material verification, approved WPS/PQR, filler classification and post-repair acceptance
- Quantity, unit weight, packing, traceability and delivery destination

Manufacturer evidence is product-specific: voestalpine identifies UTP A 3444; Wieland Concast describes continuous-cast C95800. Castings, wrought products and repair fillers must not be treated as automatically equivalent.
