Scope in Procurement

ISO 6892-2:2026 specifies a method for tensile testing metallic materials at temperatures higher than room temperature.

The inquiry must distinguish a short-duration tensile test from creep, stress-rupture, relaxation or other long-term high-temperature tests.

The governing material or product standard controls the required test temperature, specimen, sampling and acceptance values.

Scope Boundary

Published in August 2026. This method does not by itself establish allowable design stress, service life or suitability for a furnace, turbine or pressure component.
