Scope in Procurement
ISO 513:2012 organizes the main material and application groups used for hard cutting materials in defined-edge chip-removal operations.
The system can support communication about hardmetals, ceramics, diamond and boron nitride cutting materials, but an ISO application-group code is not a chemical grade, manufacturer designation or automatic equivalent of a ВК, Т, YG or other national grade.
The scope does not extend to mining or percussion tools, wire-drawing dies, deformation tooling or comparator contact tips. Those inquiries require their own material and application route.
