Scope in Procurement
ISO 4499-2:2020 gives a metallographic route for measuring WC grain size in WC/Co hardmetals using optical or electron microscopy.
The method uses linear-intercept analysis and addresses microscope calibration, statistically meaningful measurement, calculation and reporting controls.
It is not a method for defining a full size distribution or particle shape, and magnetic coercivity measurements are outside this metallographic route.
