Scope in Procurement
- ASTM A276/A276M is a stainless-bar and shape specification. Round, square, hexagonal, rectangular and other ordered sections must be described precisely.
- Grade inclusion, condition, heat treatment and mechanical requirements are checked against the current standard and certificate.
- Pressure-service bar can require ASTM A479/A479M instead. The shared word ‘bar’ does not make the two specifications interchangeable.
