What This Standard Covers
ASTM B338-17(2026) covers titanium and titanium-alloy tubing intended for surface condensers, evaporators and heat exchangers.
The specification distinguishes seamless, welded and applicable cold-worked routes and includes product-specific mechanical, flattening, examination and pressure-test provisions.

Seamless tube and welded tube are not interchangeable descriptions. The required manufacturing route, final condition and examination programme must be stated and confirmed.
Suitability for a particular heat exchanger depends on the customer’s design conditions, medium, temperature, pressure and governing equipment code.

- full ASTM designation and required edition
- grade and UNS number
