Scope in Procurement
ASTM B924 covers seamless and welded nickel-alloy tubing whose external surface, internal surface or both are modified by cold forming to create an integral enhanced surface for condensers, evaporators, heat exchangers and similar heat-transfer equipment.

- Exact base alloy, base-tube standard and ASTM B924-02(2022) edition
- Condenser, evaporator or heat-exchanger duty and governing equipment specification
- Base-tube dimensions, unfinned ends, finished length and tolerances
- Seamless or welded route and required final condition
- Integral-fin geometry, enhanced-surface location and heat-transfer design data
- Mechanical, dimensional, leak or electric examination and cleanliness requirements
- Inspection document, traceability, marking, protection and destination
The material identity must remain traceable from the producing heat and lot through manufacture, welding or seamless processing, heat treatment, testing, inspection documentation, marking and final release.
Scope Boundary
ASTM B924 defines an enhanced-surface tube route; it does not select the base alloy or guarantee thermal or corrosion performance in a specific process. The base-tube specification, alloy, fin geometry, equipment design and tubesheet-joint requirements must be ordered together.
