Separate the Material Family from the Certified Grade

Pure molybdenum, TZM, TZC, lanthanated molybdenum, MoCu, MoW and MoRe have different compositions, production routes and performance. A commercial family name does not by itself establish compliance with a specific ASTM grade or manufacturer designation.

Standards Are Applied by Product Scope

ASTM B386/B386M

Applies to defined molybdenum and molybdenum-alloy plate, sheet, strip and foil products. Grade and production route must match the ordered material.

ASTM B387/B387M

Applies to defined molybdenum and molybdenum-alloy bar, rod and wire. It is not a universal certificate for every commercial molybdenum product.

ASTM B1024/B1024M

Covers isotropic pure molybdenum monolithic forms within its specified scope. Applicability is checked against material, form and manufacturing route.

ASTM Alloy Designations

Designations such as Molybdenum 360, 361 and 365, or TZM 363 and 364, are standard-defined options. They are not assigned without source and certificate confirmation.

Composition-Specific Alloys

MoCu, MoW, MoRe, MoLa and TZC require explicit composition or manufacturer-grade control; a related ASTM number is not extended beyond its scope.

Inspection Documents

EN 10204 document type, chemistry, dimensional results, mechanical or physical properties and additional testing are defined in the inquiry.
