Scope in Procurement
ASTM B890-25 defines an XRF route for determining metallic constituent concentrations in tungsten-based alloys and hardmetals.
The method addresses representative preparation of powder and sintered material and can support acceptance to a grade specification when its material and analytical scope applies.
It is not applicable to every tungsten composite; official ASTM guidance excludes material systems that do not oxidize readily under the preparation route, including WCu and WAg. Exact composition family and laboratory capability must be screened first.
