Scope in Procurement
ISO 4499-3:2016 supports metallographic measurement of microstructural features in Ti(C,N)-based hardmetals and in WC/Co hardmetals containing additional cubic carbides.
The route uses optical or electron microscopy and linear-intercept measurement to characterize relevant phase dimensions and distribution.
The material family, phase terminology, specimen preparation, imaging method and reporting basis must be confirmed rather than transferred automatically from a conventional WC-Co grade.
