Scope in Procurement
ISO 17781:2017 addresses quality-control methods and test conditions used to characterize the microstructure of ferritic/austenitic duplex stainless components in solution-annealed condition and fabrication welds in as-welded condition.
It supplements the relevant product and fabrication standards for destructive testing intended to detect harmful intermetallic phases or precipitates and to document laboratory results.
The standard is not a product specification, grade-equivalence document or universal acceptance route. The component, weld, sampling plan, applicable test method and acceptance criteria must be established by the governing project documents.
