Alloy, Temper and Form Must Agree

  • 6061, 6082 and 6005A are related engineering alloys, not automatic substitutes.
  • T6, T651, T6511 and other temper suffixes describe different processing routes and must be preserved.
  • Rolled plate, extruded profile, drawn tube and forging standards have different scopes.
  • Dimensional capability is confirmed for the selected alloy, temper and plant—not combined from unrelated catalogues as a guaranteed stock range.

Typical applications described by producers include structural profiles, transport components, machined parts, load-bearing frames and welded engineering assemblies. Final suitability depends on design, joining method, corrosion environment, fatigue, surface treatment and service conditions.

Product Forms

Sheet & Plate

Flat or coiled sheet, plate, sawn blanks and machined plate. State thickness, width, length, temper, flatness, surface, protective film and cutting requirement.

Bar & Rod

Round, square, rectangular and flat bar for machining or fabrication. State diameter or section, length, straightness, finish and temper.

Profiles & Tube

Standard or custom solid profiles, hollow sections and seamless or porthole-extruded tubes. Drawing, circumscribing size, wall, length and tolerances control feasibility.

Forgings

Die, hand or ring forgings and forging stock. Alloy coverage is checked inside the selected standard; ASTM B247-25 evidence for 6061 is not automatically extended to 6082 or 6005A.

Parts to Drawing

Cut, drilled, milled, turned, welded or finished components through a controlled material route. Mill certificates remain linked to the supplied part where the project requires traceability.
