MOLYBDENUM–RHENIUM ALLOYS & SPECIALIZED COMPONENTS

MoRe Molybdenum–Rhenium Alloys

Composition-controlled sourcing for MoRe wire, rod, tubing, sheet, foil, plate and custom parts.

MNK-G.S.A sources molybdenum–rhenium material by exact rhenium content, product form, dimensions, condition, application requirements, inspection documents and destination.

Rhenium Content Must Be Confirmed

A specialist manufacturer publishes 47.5 % rhenium as a standard MoRe alloy, but other compositions may exist for specific processes or applications. The exact Mo/Re ratio and manufacturer specification must be confirmed before material identity or interchangeability is accepted.

Material Definition and Supply Scope

Mo–47.5%Re

Manufacturer-published standard composition used in wire, tubing and other refractory-metal forms. Exact chemistry and condition are certificate-controlled.

Wire and Flat Wire

Round and flat wire sourced by composition, diameter or cross-section, finish, spool or coil, mechanical properties and application.

Rod and Bar

Long products sourced by exact MoRe composition, diameter, length, surface condition, tolerance and downstream machining requirements.

Sheet, Foil and Plate

Flat products sourced by composition, thickness, width, length, condition, surface and grain-direction requirements.

Seamless Tubing

Thin-wall and other MoRe tubing sourced by outside diameter, wall, length, concentricity, finish and required inspection.

Custom Components

Electronic, furnace, aerospace and specialized parts manufactured to drawing after material and process feasibility review.

Typical Global Sourcing Range

The ranges below represent typical global sourcing and manufacturing capability across specialist sources. They are not MNK stock and do not describe one universal factory envelope.

Product FormTypical Global Sourcing RangeNotes
WireFrom approximately Ø0.0254 mmNo unsupported universal upper limit is claimed.
Rod / BarSpecialist manufacture to approximately Ø152.4 mmMaximum diameter, length and condition are composition-specific.
Plate / Sheet / FoilCustom dimensions on requestThickness, width and length depend on rhenium content and route.
Tubing / Custom PartsAccording to specification or drawingGeometry, condition and inspection are confirmed individually.

MoRe14, MoRe41, MoRe44.5 and MoRe47.5 require composition-specific source confirmation.

Actual availability depends on grade, specification, quantity, tolerances, certification requirements and manufacturing source. Diameter, thickness, width and length must be confirmed as one complete combination.

Mo47.5Re Product and Standard Examples

The examples below apply specifically to nominal 47.5 % rhenium material or to a named manufacturer programme. They do not establish identical availability for MoRe14, MoRe41 or MoRe44.5.

Reference / formPublished scope or exampleQualification
ASTM F3273-17(2021)e1Wrought Mo-47.5Re, UNS R03700, for surgical-implant manufactureApplication-specific standard; it is not a general certificate for every MoRe use or composition.
Round bars and flats within ASTM F3273 scope1–101.6 mm diameter or thickness; other sizes and shapes by agreementChemical, mechanical, metallurgical and inspection requirements of the standard still apply.
Specialist Mo47.5Re wire and rodWire as small as approximately Ø0.0254 mm; rod up to approximately Ø152.4 mmManufacturer capability endpoints, not proof that every condition or length is available at those diameters.
MoRe tubingEndpoints of listed outside diameters: Ø0.508–25.4 mmShared Mo / Mo-alloy / MoRe catalogue. Confirm the alloy and the paired inside diameter or wall; the endpoints are not a continuous tube range.
Annealed Mo52.5Re47.5 foil example0.125 mm × 100 mm × 100 mmA specific catalogue item; it does not establish a general foil-width or length envelope.

ASTM F3273 also addresses sheet within its specific surgical-implant scope, but MNK-G.S.A does not convert that scope into a general stock promise. For every inquiry, composition, application, product form, dimensions, condition, surface, inspection and the governing edition of any standard are verified together.

Standards and Documentation

Manufacturer Specification

MoRe product identity is normally governed by the selected manufacturer datasheet or customer specification, including exact rhenium content and product condition.

No Universal ASTM Grade

The shorthand MoRe or Mo47.5Re is not presented as a universal ASTM mill-product grade unless the customer provides an applicable standard and scope.

Application Requirements

Critical electronics, aerospace, medical or nuclear-related inquiries may require additional material, process, traceability and qualification controls.

EN 10204:2004

A European inspection-document type may be requested, subject to the manufacturer’s ability to provide agreed chemistry, properties and traceability.

EN / DIN Equivalence

No generic EN or DIN designation is assumed equivalent to a commercial MoRe alloy. Exact documents and customer approvals govern any substitution.

Certificate Review

Composition, heat or lot traceability, product form, dimensions, condition and agreed test results are checked before shipment.

Application Context

Electronics and Instrumentation

Wire, grids, emitters and other components where the exact alloy composition and process condition govern performance.

Furnace and Aerospace

High-temperature structural or thermal-shock applications developed around an approved MoRe grade and component design.

Special Tubing and Parts

Thin-wall tubes and precision components for demanding industrial, research or medical applications subject to qualification.

Capability Note

Published dimensional ranges describe demonstrated manufacturing capability across specialist sources, not guaranteed stock and not one universal mill envelope. Diameter, thickness, width, length, condition, tolerance and quantity must be confirmed as one complete combination for each inquiry.

Sources and conditions for the MoRe examples

Composition and dimensional examples checked on 15 October 2026. Inch-based wire, rod and tubing endpoints are converted using 25.4 mm per inch; they do not establish stock availability or a universal manufacturing envelope.
