MNK-G.S.A treats MoLa as a manufacturer- and specification-controlled family. Lanthana content, product form, dimensions, condition, properties and documentation are verified before any equivalence or performance claim is accepted.

MoLa Chemistry Must Be Stated Explicitly

“MoLa” can describe different lanthana-doped molybdenum variants. Published specialist datasheets include, for example, rod with nominal 0.3 wt.% La₂O₃ and flat products with nominal 0.7 wt.% La₂O₃. These are not automatically interchangeable, so the customer requirement and manufacturer datasheet govern the supply.

Material Definition and Supply Scope

MoLa Rod and Bar

Lanthana-doped molybdenum long products sourced by the exact manufacturer grade, nominal La₂O₃ content, diameter, length, surface condition and tolerance.

MoLa Sheet and Foil

Cold- or hot-rolled flat products sourced by grade, thickness, width, length, condition, surface finish and grain-direction requirements.

MoLa Plate

Plate availability is source- and chemistry-specific. Thickness, maximum format, production route and required condition are confirmed as one combination.

Wire

Fine and larger-diameter MoLa wire is sourced under manufacturer specifications unless the customer provides a governing product standard.

High-Temperature Parts

Furnace racks, trays, boats, heat shields, heating elements and custom components are reviewed against temperature, atmosphere, load and fabrication route.

No Automatic Equivalence

MoLa, HCT potassium-doped molybdenum, pure molybdenum and TZM are separate material families. Similar high-temperature use does not establish grade equivalence.

Standards and Documentation

Manufacturer Grade Controls

MoLa composition and product condition are normally governed by the selected manufacturer datasheet or customer specification, including the declared La₂O₃ level.

ASTM Scope Check

ASTM B386/B386M and B387/B387M list pure molybdenum, TZM and Mo-30W grades; they do not automatically designate every commercial MoLa variant.

Customer Specifications

A customer drawing or technical specification may define chemistry, recrystallization behavior, mechanical properties, grain structure and inspection requirements.

EN 10204:2004

European inspection documents can be requested by type, such as 3.1 or 3.2, subject to the selected manufacturer and agreed test scope.

European Product Standards

No generic EN or DIN designation is presented as a universal MoLa equivalent. Any requested European product standard is checked by exact document number, edition and applicability.

Certificate Review

The certificate is checked for declared grade, chemistry, heat or lot traceability, dimensions and the tests required by the purchase specification.

Application Context

Vacuum Furnaces

MoLa is used for selected hot-zone components such as trays, racks, boats, shields and supports where recrystallization behavior and fabrication route matter.

Heating Components

Heating elements and supports require review of electrical loading, operating atmosphere, geometry, joints and the exact MoLa grade.

Engineered Parts

Cut, formed, machined and assembled components are developed from compatible starting material after drawing and process review.
