MoLa Chemistry Must Be Stated Explicitly
MoLa is a family, not one universal composition. Plansee lists La₂O₃ content by mass: ML 0.3 %; MLR 0.7 %; MLS 0.7 %. MLR is recrystallized; MLS is stress relieved. These named manufacturer variants must not be treated as interchangeable or assigned solely by product shape. The ordered grade, condition and manufacturer datasheet govern.

Practical Sheet Formats and Grade-Specific Wire
Elmet lists nominal sheet thickness examples: 0.25 mm; 1 mm; 4 mm and plate thickness examples: 5 mm; 20 mm; 38.1 mm. These are individual catalogue thicknesses, not guaranteed combinations of thickness, width, length, condition and chemistry. Dimension references checked: .
The Elmet catalogue lists one MoLa sheet at 0.025 in × 24 in × 96 in, equivalent to 0.635 mm × 609.6 mm × 2438.4 mm (thickness × width × length). Both unit displays derive from the same catalogue dimensions. Its La₂O₃ content and availability require confirmation; this format is not transferable to every grade or thickness.
The Elmet wire page confirms the product form, but its shared HCT/MoLa application table does not establish one diameter range for every MoLa composition. State the manufacturer grade, La₂O₃ content, diameter, length or spool quantity, surface and condition in the inquiry.

Manufacturer Grade Controls
MoLa composition and product condition are normally governed by the selected manufacturer datasheet or customer specification, including the declared La₂O₃ level.
ASTM Scope Check
ASTM B386/B386M-25 covers specified flat-product grades; ASTM B387/B387M-23 covers specified bar, rod and wire grades. Their public scopes list pure molybdenum, TZM and Mo-30W variants, not a blanket MoLa designation. Verify the ordered grade and product scope rather than infer compliance from the name MoLa.
Customer Specifications
A customer drawing or technical specification may define chemistry, recrystallization behavior, mechanical properties, grain structure and inspection requirements.
EN 10204:2004
European inspection documents can be requested by type, such as 3.1 or 3.2, subject to the selected manufacturer and agreed test scope.
European Product Standards
No generic EN or DIN designation is presented as a universal MoLa equivalent. Any requested European product standard is checked by exact document number, edition and applicability.
