Scope
What This Standard Covers
ASTM B1024/B1024M-23 specifies isotropic monolithic unalloyed molybdenum. It is not a seamless-tube specification and should not be described as one.
The standard establishes two grades intended to provide mechanical behaviour that is not dependent on test orientation. The official publication governs composition, mechanical requirements and verification.

Both covered grades use UNS R03610. Grade selection and the ordered product geometry must be stated by the purchaser and confirmed by the producer.
- Grade 1 — UNS R03610;
- Grade 2 — UNS R03610;
- monolithic unalloyed molybdenum with isotropic mechanical-property requirements;
- the required geometry, size, condition and documentation must be defined in the inquiry.

Ordering and Verification Points
A quotation should be based on the customer’s governing specification and the requirements stated in the inquiry, drawing, purchase order or project documentation. Include:
- the full ASTM designation and required edition;
- the material grade, alloy or manufacturing route stated by the project;
- the required product form, dimensions, tolerances, condition and surface requirements;
- quantity, inspection and test requirements, acceptance criteria and requested inspection documents;
- any supplementary requirements, drawing references, packing instructions and delivery destination.

Relationship to Other Standards
This specification should be distinguished from ASTM B386/B386M for flat products and ASTM B387/B387M for bar, rod and wire. Selection depends on whether the project specifically requires isotropic pure molybdenum and on the ordered form.
Related designations are not automatically equivalent. Any comparison with EN, ISO, DIN, ГОСТ, ТУ, manufacturer grades or customer specifications must be checked against the applicable technical documents and certificates.
