MNK-G.S.A develops each supply route from the drawing, wear mechanism, operating medium, geometry, material controls, inspection requirements and destination—not from a generic carbide name alone.

Components Within the Sourcing Scope

The final material and manufacturing route depend on the duty. The examples below define enquiry categories, not a universal grade recommendation.

Flow Control & Spray Systems

Nozzle blanks, orifice inserts, swirl components, sleeves, bushings, plungers, seats and other parts exposed to abrasive or erosive flow.

Separation & Process Equipment

Centrifuge tiles, feed and discharge nozzles, scraper bars, plows, wear platelets and screen components supplied as blanks or ready-to-install assemblies.

Material Handling & Recycling

Wear-protection parts, guides, crushing or grinding components, pelletising blanks and equipment-specific elements manufactured to agreed drawings.

Cutting & General Wear Elements

Knife blanks, cutting elements, balls, pins, guides, rollers and special wear inserts where the geometry and carbide grade are selected for the actual service conditions.

A blank and a ready-to-use assembly are different procurement scopes. The quotation must state which machining, grinding, coating, brazing or assembly operations are included.

Published Manufacturer Examples

Current specialist catalogues illustrate the breadth of manufacturing routes available in the market:

  • Spherical carbide blanks are published in selected diameters from approximately 0.6 to 38 mm.
  • One knife-blank programme publishes lengths of approximately 50–320 mm, widths of 12–30 mm and thicknesses of 2.5–6 mm.
  • Spray-nozzle blanks and related flow-control wear parts are offered in dimensions developed from the drawing or application requirement.
  • Centrifuge wear solutions include both sintered blanks and assembled or brazed make-to-print components.

These are separate catalogue examples, not one combined MNK stock range. Actual availability depends on grade, geometry, quantity, tolerance, finish, documentation and the selected manufacturing source.

Grade and Design Controls

  • Wear mode: abrasion, erosion, sliding, impact or mixed duty
  • Operating medium, pressure, temperature and corrosion exposure
  • Required WC grain size, binder type and binder content
  • Hardness, density, transverse-rupture strength or other acceptance limits
  • Blank or finished-part geometry, tolerances and surface condition
  • Mating material, joining route and support geometry
  • Coating, polishing, EDM, grinding or edge requirements
  • Inspection method, traceability and documentation level

ВК, WCo, YG and manufacturer designations are not treated as automatic equivalents. Every proposed grade is checked against the drawing, certificate and governing purchase specification.

Inspection and Technical Documentation

The inspection plan should be agreed before production. Depending on the component, the order may require dimensional reports, material identification, chemistry, hardness, density, microstructure, porosity, grain-size evaluation, mechanical testing, assembly inspection or third-party witness.

Relevant test methods may include the applicable ISO 3327, ISO 3369 and ISO 4499-series references or ASTM B276, B294, B311, B406, B887 and B890. A test-method number does not itself define the correct grade or acceptance limit.

What to Include in the RFQ

  • Drawing, 3D model or authorised sample reference
  • Required grade, known material reference or permitted-alternative rule
  • Wear mechanism, operating medium, pressure, temperature and duty cycle
  • Dimensions, tolerances, surface finish and critical inspection points
  • Blank, semi-finished, finished or assembled supply condition
  • Quantity, repeat demand and prototype or sample requirement
  • Certificate, test-report, traceability and third-party inspection requirements
  • Delivery destination and required date
